Product Description

Description:

The lollipop plant also known as the Golden Candle Plant or Golden Shrimp Plant is a gorgeous plant with showy yellow flowers that will make it a centerpiece for any room. It will continue to flower as long as you give it adequate light and moisture. Grown outdoors they can reach up to about 4 feet in height, and a few feet wide, which is why growers indoors really need to keep the plant pruned.

Light - It prefers bright indirect light. The full sun is fine as long as it isn’t direct light. It’ll do well in light shade. The thing to remember is that it will keep rewarding you with its beautiful blooms as long as it has enough light.

Watering - Prefer moist soils that you can allow to dry slightly between waterings. Don’t let it dry out though or it might not recover if it wilts.

Fertilizer - You should fertilizer your lollipop regularly, especially during the growing season. A balanced fertilizer is an excellent option.

Pruning and grooming- Because this plant grows quick it needs to be pruned (during spring) to manage it's size indoors. These are best cut just above the leaf node (the section where leaves meet the stem) for a good third of the branches. When the flower heads begin to die you can also cut these away, which encourages new growth and health. You can trim this plant and pinch it (take away the top section of the main stem) to guide it to grow in a nice compact shape, which makes it look more full and friendly indoors.
