Cyrtostachys renda, also known by the common names red sealing wax palm and lipstick palm, is a palm that is native to Thailand, Malaysia, Sumatra, and Borneo in Indonesia. The red scarlet color of the sheath and petiole gives it a good Fung Shui character: imparts Luck and wards off bad luck. Being a palm that is used to water, it should be planted with the water around the root system.
